Emergency Temporary Shelter

An ETS as a module of European Civil Protection provides emergency temporary shelter, including the essential services, mainly in the initial stages of a disaster.

An ETS is a tent camp equipped for up to 250 persons.

The ETS module is able to depart maximal 12 hours after the acceptance of the offer. General the mission will last up to 4 weeks, or a handover process will begin if necessary. In response to the current EU call for proposals, Samaritan Austria in cooperation with Samaritan Slovakia, the Government of Styria and The Johanniter offered the development of a sustainable EURETS for managing the immediate sheltering of up to 240 displaced/affected people in disaster prone countries inside and outside of the European Union for 4 weeks.
